The Graphic reported that a security booth was in the works for the Seaver Drive entrance to the Malibu campus, just over two months after it opened. The security office was also hiring students to serve in part-time positions. The announcement came as welcome news to students seeking work in sparsely populated Malibu.¹

The LA campus had recently gotten a guard booth of its own after a small crime wave in 1971.²
