Karen Bua to lead cheerleaders

The Graphic reported that junior Karen Bua would lead Pepperdine's cheerleaders for the 1972-1973 academic year. Bua was a returning cheerleader from the LA campus for the '71-'72 year.1 Tryouts had been held on campus at the end of October, with the student body being allowed to vote on who would make the squad.2
Bua would go on to marry Laker legend Jerry West.
