Pepperdine senior Debbie Bronder was named winner of the 1972-1973 Miss Carson beauty pageant. The blonde would serve as an official representative of the City of Carson at various dedications and ground-breaking ceremonies, as well as at the LA County fair.1
Two years earlier, Carson had been a yell leader (a kind of cheerleader) for the Waves.2
