Randy Lowry wins debate tournament

Sophomore Randy Lowry won the USC-LMU debate tournament with partner Mike Devlin.1 Lowry would go on to found the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine. He later became the seventeenth president of Lipscomb University, Pepperdine's sister school in Nashville.

Later in 1972, Lowry would be named president of the new student government on the Malibu campus.
