School of Law to find new campus
date Thursday, March 23, 1972
location Santa Ana
The Pepperdine School of Law was formed in 1969 when the expanding college took over the Orange University College of Law. The school was at this point outgrowing its facility. According to dean Ronald Phillips, the school was looking for a new home, with an announcement to be made by August, aiming for a 1974 move.1
In fact, by 1973 the law school had moved from Santa Ana to Anaheim, with a view of Disneyland's Matterhorn ride in the distance. In 1978, after two years of construction, the School of Law moved into the Odell McConnell Law Center on the Malibu campus, where it remains to this day.2
