The Graphic reported that Bob Thomas had been named the dean of student life for the new Malibu campus, which would open in September 1972. In his new role, Thomas would oversee student recreation, student government, student housing, clubs, chapel, etc. Thomas had been dean of admissions and supervisor of financial aid at the Los Angeles campus.
